Why did my eBlocker block a Windows 10 update? 2nd submission.

Microsoft completed an update on 1.4.2016. Following the reboot, I no longer had many of the aspects of WIndows 10. I had no bottom toolbar. The date and time was no longer in the bottom right had corner. I had no access to the alphabetized list of programs. When I minimized a window, it disappeared. I did not have any background on by desktop other than black. I wouldn't find the Settings anywhere. I had to restore my OS in order to get the full version of Windows 10, after I unplugged the eBlocker. Everything works just fine now. I've plugged the eBlocker back in because it does it's job of eliminating ads and that's a real relief. Any ideas on why it didn't allow a WIndows 10 update?

Thanks!

Hi Dale,

the eBlocker is not able to corrupt your operating system. Even if an update file would be corrupted, windows can recgocnize it and redownload the file.

Hi Dale,

besides (what Tim mentioned) that Win10 only installs signed updates (a corrupted file (even 1 wrong bit) equals to unsigned) AFAIK Win10 downloads updates using HTTPS (which eblocker still doesn't filter).
