EBLOCKER WILL NOT WORK

Need Answer

I have EBLOCKER connected to my Verizon FIOS router. I have tried setup by the EBLOCKER icon never appears. I have tried at least 10 times, clearing my browsers cache and trying with FIREFOX and CHROME. I also checked the support forum and found some assistance with manual setup and still no luck.

I found a link, which I can no longer find, and submitted a support ticket, which was never responded to. In addition, what seems odd to me, is the EBLOCKER web cube seems to be empty. It does not seem there is anything in the cube unless it is suppose to weigh less than 2-3 oz.

There is not contact number for EBLOCKER and I am at a loss as to what to do

Hello Steven,

you connected your eBlocker to a free LAN port on your router and connected then the power supply. Did you see the LAN light on the eBlocker turning on?

How does your network setup looks like?

Did you use other devices like a switch (managed / unmanaged).

I have four open ports on my Verizon Fios router. I have the cat5 cable plugged into an open port and into the back of the EBLOCKER. I see NO Lan light on the EBLOCKER turning on. I do not use a managed switch. As mentioned above I feel as if the EBLOCKER is a white empty cube. There does not seem to be anything in side unless it is suppose to be very light (in weight)

same here. there is something inside if you open it. but no LAN light

Niek--I assume you cannot get EBLOCKER to work either?

maybe power cable malfunction?

photo

I highly doubt it but possible. I know the outlet is working

Maybe it's a power supply malfunction.

Normaly you have to connect the eBlocker to your router and the power supply to the eBlocker. It could take a few secounds after you see the LAN lights on the eBlocker trunung on.

You can send the eBlocker team an email. See here: http://user.forum.eblocker.com/knowledge-base/article/support

Describe your problem as good as possible.

Same here, LAN leds stay black. Looks like either the power supply is not working or the board itself is dead (i assume the first since they hopefully do quality checks on the boards before shipment).

obviously they don't do quality checks.

I sent an email to support to clarify this.

Same here, my eblocker seems to be dead, no lights, no icon, no reaction. Power supply has 5,05V. So power is not the problem.

@TecTom: Did you measure the voltage with or without a load?

photo

I have measured the voltage without load. But the power supply seems not be the problem because the eblocker is getting warm.

I found the problem on my eblocker: The network cable is defect. With a

new cable it works but now the registration process does not work.

Licence Key invalid! That is really great!

@TecTom: Hast du zuerst die Seriennummer eingegeben und dann den Key? Hast du mehrere Mail-Adressen und eventuell eine andere genommen als die, mit der du den eBlocker bestellt hast?

Problem also solved now. Big thanks to the fast support!

On my licence key is a Q which looks like a 0 with slash which is often used to differ between 0 and O. A bit unlucky but now it works!

Same here. No lights on. No new IP comes into the local net when eBlocker supposedly is "on". DEAD .... like many here in this thread say. Whats going on????????

I think we should distinguish between the eBlocker not working (but booting) and eBlockers not booting and not showing ANY activity at all. I will post when I receive an answer from the team.

IMHO this is not acceptable for a new product, not even if it is a kickstarter product or a w nestartup. a NON functioning product is simply really bad quality assurance, too bad :/

My is not working at all...nothing. No lights, no power. I purchased a white plastic box that does nothing

Same here. No lights. Just white, cold plastic.

Hi Steven,

could you please double-check that the power supply's country adapter is snapped in correctly? Do you have a 110 V outlet?

photo

I was having the same issue, no power. Your comment about the adapter snapped in correctly led me to the solution: The problem is in the 110V Americas adapter. By replacing it with the standard EU 220V round, which has larger leads and using my personal "round" to flat" terminals I could work around it and now works.

The problem is in the assembly of the multi adapter.

My adapter IS snapped in correctly (220V) and seems not deliver.

Since the adapter is not micro USB i cannot try any one I have, and I am not willing to measure in the 220V circuit if the power adapter is working correctly.

Hi Tim...that did it! I did not have the adapter in all the way. I was able to setup EBLOCKER in FIREFOX with no issues. However, my preferred brower, CHROME, it would not work. The orange Icon never showed up. Any ideas?

Thanks for confirming that the eBlocker works now. At least in Firefox.

It's strange, however, that it works in Firefox and not in Chrome. I assume both browsers are running on the same computer? And you tried to access the same URLs?

Have you already activated the SSL feature? If not, please note that the eBlocker icon will not be visible on any URL starting with "https". Only on "http" URLs.

All,

I would like to confirm that we actually do a final function test for each eBlocker that is sent out.

But we can unfortunately not test each and every network cable and power adapter.

We received notice from a small number of customers that there are indeed technical problems with their network cables or power adapters. (Notably in this thread.)

We will of course provide replacement and we will definitely talk to our supplier, in case the quality of the delivered components is not as expected. To receive replacement, please send an email to de-support(at)eblocker.com or en-support(at)eblocker.com. Include your order number or anything else that helps us to identify the transaction.

It would be a great help, if you would also send back the defect components, so that we can investigate and find out, what is wrong.

Thanks a lot

Dasselbe, keine LED, Würfel bleibt kalt. Kann die Stromversorgung über ein anderes Kabel oder per USB erfolgen -

welche Anforderungen gibt es ?

Tim--thanks again. Everything is working great in FIREFOX. With SSL feature installed I see the EBLOCKER orange icon on each page. Now..hopefully one last issue: I copied the link for the SSL certificate and installed in Chrome. Asked me if I wanted to install for current user or machine. I chose current user and when it prompted me back then chose local machine. I did receive some message that this was not a trusted certificate. Now when I go to any web site in Chrome I receive a warning message that the site is not private. I have to click on Advanced and chose something like GO TO SITE ANYWAY. Can you assist?

photo

Update to my comments above: I began adding many of my financial web sites to the SSL domain area as they were blocked. I rebooted the EBLOCKER and as far as I can tell have the most current version of CHROME. Some sites, such as Bank of America, will load but with an web page totally unlike the one I normally get and is not useable. I can't log into my AOL email. I get to the AOL home page but as soon as I click on my mail icon it tells me I am entering an unsecure site. Even when I request to still go to the site it will not allow me. I am having issues with my password manager, LASTPASS, not connecting to their server on the first attempt. It takes me a minute or two before it will accept my credentials.

FINALLY I am also getting the message that my license has expired. If I check the status it says the license expired on 8/19/2016. How do I remedy this?

photo
1

Fished around and resolved the expired license issue. Just still lots of problems with Chrome

I sent an email last saturday about my eBlocker not starting AT ALL and I did not receive any response so far. I am really thinking about sending this thing back. Cannot believe nobody is taking care of these issues?!

photo

OK, I received an answer: I shall send back the eBlocker including all accessoires and the receipt so the team can check. No word about who is going to pay for the (international) shipping... not happy.
